WHAT IS UGLY BUTTER?

UGLY BUTTER is a Malaysian butter cookie made with a simple idea: butter first, cookie second.

It is a buttery, crisp, melt-in-your-mouth sablé created to be delicious, memorable, and a little bit different.

Because we didn't want to make another cookie brand that takes itself too seriously.

Everything doesn't have to be perfect. Sometimes the weird, funny, slightly ugly things are the ones you remember.

So we called it UGLY BUTTER.

Because butter is the whole point.

We wanted the cookie to taste unmistakably buttery — rich, crisp, fragrant, and satisfying without needing to hide behind complicated flavours.

Because we wanted the idea of UGLY BUTTER to be obvious the moment you see it.

The butter-shaped mascot, the packaging, and the name all come from the same simple joke: what if butter became a cookie brand?

UGLY BUTTER is made in Malaysia and inspired by the everyday personality of Malaysia — the food, the humour, the slang, the chaos, and the little things that make us who we are.

It is a Malaysian cookie that doesn't need to shout to be Malaysian.

A butter cookie. A little mascot. A slightly ridiculous name.
